LESSONS

As of 2007 through to the current time (2016) I am happy to provide private tuition to people wishing to learn the bass. I am formally qualified with a post graduate in Education and Training (TAFE) and many years of experience playing bass in the studio and at live performances.

The nature of lessons can be tailored to your liking ranging from formal ‘study’ type lessons through to ‘I wanna learn it now’ type formats. Depending on what you want to get out of your playing I can alter the format and style to help achieve your desired outcome. For example my first student had joined a band after only 4 months and was playing a gig at one of Australia’s most well know live venues (The Espy)

More than happy to help raw beginners (even with how to choose a bass)  through to more experienced students, children and adults. We can even put together recordings of you playing or make a short video for your own webpage.

Here is an example of 2 videos I made for a student recently. I find  spending 15 minutes after each lesson recording the material we covered is a great way to provide students with something to practice along to. In this case the videos are aiming to show the basics of playing Listen To The Music by the Doobie Brothers. The idea here is to provide a reminder of the notes without worrying about the technique and all of the fills that can get in the way of  a student being able to play along. Of course there are other times when the videos are all about those things!
